Terms of use

Last updated 31 August 2026
This is a plain-language draft written to match how YAARON actually works today, not a lawyer-drafted contract. Before this app is opened to the public or handles real user data at scale, have an India-qualified lawyer review this page — particularly against the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023, since YAARON collects location, phone numbers, and photos.

1. What YAARON is

YAARON helps people post and join casual, platonic plans — food, coffee, a walk, a movie — with others nearby. It is not a dating service, and using it to seek romantic or sexual contact is against these terms.

2. Your account

3. Selfie check and the "Verified" badge

Before you can request to join a plan or accept someone into one you've posted, we require a selfie on your profile. This is a lightweight check, reviewed by our team, meant to reduce fake accounts — it is not an identity verification service and does not guarantee any user's real identity. A "Verified" badge means our team has manually reviewed and approved your selfie; its absence does not by itself indicate anything is wrong with an account.

4. Location and safety

Your precise location is only shared with another user once you've both agreed to meet (an "accepted" plan), and only for a limited window around that meetup. See our Safety page for guidance on meeting people from the app — YAARON does not supervise meetups and cannot guarantee any user's conduct.

5. Content you post

6. Group chat

Group chat unlocks between a plan's creator and the people they've accepted. Messages are visible to everyone in that group, and to our admin team, who can review chat messages and match history for safety, moderation, and to investigate reports. Chats are not end-to-end encrypted. Be respectful — the same conduct rules in section 5 apply.

7. Data we collect

We collect the account details you provide (name, email, phone, bio, interests, selfie), the plans and messages you post, and location data when you use location features. We use this to run the app — matching, chat, safety review — and don't sell it to third parties. A fuller privacy policy will be published as the app grows; for now, treat this section as our current practice.

8. Disclaimer

YAARON is provided "as is." We do our best to keep the app safe and working, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any user is who they claim to be. You use YAARON, and any plans you make through it, at your own risk.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. Continuing to use YAARON after an update means you accept the revised terms.
